WIDE: Wealth Inequality and Demographic Events

WIDE is a research project on inequalities in wealth accumulation over the life cycle, in relation to demographic events (birth, marriage, divorce, death of a relative). Coordinated by Marion Leturcq, the project is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) until February 2026 and brings together a team of a dozen researchers from INED (French Institute for Demographic Studies) and other institutions. The project aims to provide original contributions to the study of wealth inequalities, particularly gender inequalities, using data from the French wealth survey (produced by INSEE, the French Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies), tax data and historical data (TRA survey).
